Sutura http://www.biowars.com/glossary/sutura/ http://www.biowars.com/glossary/sutura/#comments Thu, 27 Nov 2008 02:06:03 +0000 admin http://www.biowars.com/glossary/sutura/ suturaSutura is a healing Fibroblast who glides through the Cosmos, weaving fibrous webs that regenerate wounded BioWarriors and mend torn and damaged tissue. She’s a spiritual being who dreams of a peaceful universe.
She hates the waste and destruction of war, but she’ll do what’s necessary to protect her home. Sutura can use those same webs to entangle attacking microbes or block their escape routes. Her skill in combat has earned her the nickname of Gentle Warrior.
Blastor saved Sutura’s life on the battlefield during a pneumonia infection, and there was an instant attraction between them. Their duties don’t allow them to spend much time together, but Sutura’s soothing presence provides a welcome respite for Blastor, and reminds him of what he’s fighting for.

Sensurian http://www.biowars.com/glossary/sensurian/ http://www.biowars.com/glossary/sensurian/#comments Thu, 27 Nov 2008 02:02:39 +0000 admin http://www.biowars.com/glossary/?p=94 sensurian

Sensurian works for the Central Nervous System, relaying messages between the Council of the Mind and the warriors of the Immune System. Crackling with energy, she travels the highways of nerve fibers at blinding speeds, and she loves it. Sensurian has an exuberant, electric personality. She’s a fast talker with a quick wit, and little patience for anyone who’s too downbeat.

Her work often brings her into contact with Blastor, and she’s got an eye for the general. Once Sensurian makes up her mind she’s interested in someone, that’s it. She knows that he has a thing for Sutura, but Sensurian likes a challenge. Confidant that she can excite Blastor in ways the soft-spoken Sutura can’t even imagine, the vivacious Sensurian plots to steal him away.

Because she plays such a vital role in the defense of The Cosmos, Sensurian is sometimes a target of invading forces. But she can take care of herself, either by outrunning her enemies or zapping them with a burst of electricity.

Scathe http://www.biowars.com/glossary/scathe/ http://www.biowars.com/glossary/scathe/#comments Thu, 27 Nov 2008 01:58:30 +0000 admin http://www.biowars.com/glossary/scathe/ scathe

If Phagien is frightening to behold in battle, then his second-in-command is downright terrifying. Scathe is almost too eager to engage the enemy, and he’s a vicious killing machine in combat. Scathe is also a brutal taskmaster on the training field, demanding that the Macrophage Corps be in prime fighting condition at all times. His loyal soldiers obey his orders without question or hesitation, knowing he would never command them to do anything that he wouldn’t do himself.

Phagien is pleased with Scathe’s devotion to duty, and he turns a blind eye to his cruelty.

General Blastor believes that this fanatical discipline has a down side. Macrophage troops tend to be little more than mindless automatons, unable to adapt to the inevitable surprises in battle. Scathe dismisses such talk, and refers Blastor to the Corps’ stunning success rate. Scathe is particularly disgusted by Humron, the joker. He really knows how to push Scathe’s buttons, and one of these days he’s going to push too hard.

They use pyroxin primarily as a weapon, but it can also serve as a means of communication, to signal other BioWarriors to join the fight.

Phagien http://www.biowars.com/glossary/phagien/ http://www.biowars.com/glossary/phagien/#comments Thu, 27 Nov 2008 01:53:43 +0000 admin http://www.biowars.com/glossary/phagien/ phagienPhagien is the gruff, no-nonsense Commander of the Macrophage Corps. If Blastor’s B-cells are the Army Infantry, then Phagien’s troops are the Marines. They get the toughest jobs, and are often called in to bail out the B-Cells when the battle isn’t going well.
A born soldier, Phagien is a calm tactician and a hot-blooded warrior. He trains his men hard, and does little to discourage the esprit-de-corps competition between the Macrophages and B-Cells. In battle, Phagien is frightening to behold.
Phagien’s weakness is his unshakable belief that there is only one way to do things: the Macrophage way. This often leads him to butt heads with Blastor, as their leadership styles are quite different.

Macrophage http://www.biowars.com/glossary/macrophage/ http://www.biowars.com/glossary/macrophage/#comments Thu, 27 Nov 2008 01:24:28 +0000 admin http://www.biowars.com/glossary/?p=61 macrophageLed by Phagien and Scathe, macrophages are the heavy artillery of the immune system. During battle, macrophages swell fearsomely in size. Their cytoskeletal armor is much stronger than a B-cell’s. Their palms emit pyroxin, a chemical that produces intense heat, which weaken invading microbes. Tentacles emerge from their body to pull their opponents into a chamber in his abdomen, where they are dissolved for instant energy. Glowing mitochondria energy pods on their shoulders dim as they grow tired and weak from battle.

The immunoglobulin immobilize the virusspikes, and also flags the virus for opsonization by macrophages.

Humron http://www.biowars.com/glossary/humron/ http://www.biowars.com/glossary/humron/#comments Thu, 27 Nov 2008 01:23:14 +0000 admin http://www.biowars.com/glossary/?p=48

Humron is second-in-command of Blastor’s B-cell army. He may share his superior’s fighting prowess and dedication to The Cosmos, but his personality couldn’t be more different. Where Blastor is a more serious, brooding leader, Humron is a joker, a mischief-maker. He can find the humor in any situation, and he often uses his wit to break the tension. This sometimes irritates Blastor, but the general recognizes that laughter can clear the mind and ease the burden of command.

Humron’s ability to bring smiles to the faces of battle-weary soldiers is a great morale boost. He’s also a formidable warrior who can’t resist lobbing a few quips while laying waste to legions of invading bacteria. Not everyone appreciates Humron’s sense of humor. Scathe, an officer in the Macrophage Corps, can’t stand Humron’s attitude. Naturally, this makes him an irresistible target for Humron’s teasing and practical jokes. It’s all Blastor can do to keep the two warriors from coming to blows.

Warrior mode: In preparation for battle, Blastor transforms:

  • Armor wraps about his body, shielding him.
  • An eye-scope unfolds over his right eye.
  • Antibody cannons extend from his forearms, firing antibody darts to combat microbes.

Special features: As a B-cell, Blastor has the awesome ability to duplicate himself:

  • The plates on his back open up and a B-cell clone pulls itself out.
  • The clone is as formidable a warrior as its master mold. The clone also has the ability to duplicate, although no more than seven B-cell clones may exist at one time. The closes are only temporary and disintegrate once their tasks are accomplished.
